BEFORE REGISTERING FOR THE FIRST SEMESTER, WE RECOMMEND THAT STUDENTS:

• Only 4 Psychology courses will transfer into the BA Psychology Program at UMass-Boston
• A "C-" grade is needed for courses to transfer directly into UMass-Boston, and maximum 70 total community college credits will transfer.

• BA students can meet the Elementary Language Proficiency by:
  1. Completing or transferring in a college foreign language course at the 102 level or higher. If a student completes or transfers in two semesters of the same language (such as 101 and 102), the student will also meet the two-course WC/WL requirement
  2. Completing up to level three of the same foreign language in high school.
  3. Completing at least one year of secondary or post-secondary education in a non-English-speaking school or university.
  4. Scoring three or higher on an AP exam in a foreign language, or scoring 50 or higher on a CLEP exam in a foreign language.
  5. Demonstrating proficiency to the appropriate language department or, 如果麻省大学波士顿分校不教授该语言, to the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Studies.

Please note: Taking a language course out of sequence will result in the loss of the proficiency requirement and the loss of transfer credits. For further information about the requirement, please consult with staff at the 本科学习办公室.

AFTER COMPLETING 15 COLLEGE-LEVEL CREDITS, WE RECOMMEND THAT STUDENTS:

1. Continue meeting with an advisor in LifeMap for semesterly Ed Planning sessions.
2. Attend a Transfer Workshop and meet Transfer Counselors.
3. Begin meeting with Career Advisors to explore interests.

• UMB’s Psychology Department requires students to take intermediate-level courses in each of the five areas of psychology. Students complete the intermediate level course work by taking one course in each of these five areas.  These courses provide students with more in-depth information about each of the main areas in which psychologists work.  每个领域都有一个或两个特定的课程. AFTER COMPLETING 45 COLLEGE LEVEL CREDITS, WE RECOMMEND THAT STUDENTS:

1. Apply for graduation at the START of their FINAL semester at BHCC.
